Tube Laser Cutting Fairmont

Time and money saved in manufacturing are two benefits of using our state-of-the-art tube laser. We have the industry’s best tolerances for cutting and customizing any form of tube using our 6,000 watt 3D tilt head tube laser. This includes odd-shaped tubes as well as square, rectangular, and round ones. component after component, our machines provide consistent cuts thanks to their precision and high motion repeatability. Any length of angle iron, channel, or flat bar up to 19 feet, 6 inches can be accommodated by our machinery.

Tube Laser Cutting Capabilities

– Circular tubes from 0.5” to 10” in diameter
– Rectangular tubes from 0.5” to 8” X 6″
– Square tubes from .05” to 7” x 7″ wide
– Channel from 1.5″ – 6.5″
– Angle from 1″ to 6″
– Clean Tube Spoon to reduce laser splatter on inside of the tube. 1.6″ ID minimum – part length 4′ 8″ max
– 3D Tilt head for cutting complex parts and beveling/angle cuts right on the machine
– Max part unload is 19′ 6″
– Weld Seam Detection

Metal Laser Cutting Fairmont

When it comes to stainless steel, aluminum, and a whole lot of other metals, AWI is the go-to company for precision high-speed laser cutting in Minnesota. Fiber Laser Metal Cutting, with its new 8,000-watt power supply, is already in operation. We are able to do so much more with this new machine. The combination of our cutting-edge technology with our time-tested procedures allows us to produce high-quality parts at an affordable price.

Laser Cutting Abilities

A state-of-the-art nesting program controls our three massive laser cutting machines, which maximize material use and minimize waste. A maximum width and length of 84 by 162 inches is what each laser cutter is capable of handling.

Laser Types

– 8 Kw Fiber Laser 7′ x 13′
– 8000 Watt Trumpf Lasers 7’ X 13’

Laser Cutting Material Capabilities

– 1-1/4” Mild Steel
– 1-1/2″ Stainless Steel
– 1-1/2″ Aluminum
– 3/8” Titanium and Brass

Benefits of Laser Cutting

By using a laser cutter, even the most difficult raw materials can be transformed into intricate, precisely sized components. This machining technology outperforms conventional cutting techniques by a significant margin, boasting a dimensional precision of about 0.0005 inches.

With traditional cutting tools, surface edges may be left jagged. Since laser cutting leverages heat, it will melt the material while creating smooth edges.

A wide range of materials can be handled by the powerful laser. Titanium, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel are a few examples.

Laser cutters are ideal for parts with complex geometries or fine detailing. When employing a laser, even extremely narrow pieces of material can be sliced with little distortion or warping.

More parts of the workpiece can be used thanks to laser cutting’s increased accuracy and precision. By correctly nested cuts, a laser cutter may produce more parts and functional components from a sheet of material. Reduced material costs are the outcome, and AWI is happy to pass these savings along to clients.

Welding Fairmont

We are able to tackle projects of any size because to our extensive arsenal of welding and assembling techniques.

Welding Capabilities

Seam & Spot Welding – Spot Welders, a 12-foot Seam Welder, and expert seam welders are all part of AWI’s seam welding capabilities. Seam welding services from AWI provide superior penetration and finish for goods ranging from prototypes to large-scale production runs.

MIG Welding – Among AWI’s offerings are MIG welding machines and the expertise of MIG welders. When speed and/or flexibility are paramount, metal inert gas (MIG) welding is the way to go. It’s also compatible with a wide range of metals.

TIG Welding – At AWI, only the most skilled TIG welders use the machines. In many cases, projects that call for a lighter, slower, and more precise weld can be met with TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding. Thanks to its clean and accurate welding process, TIG welding allows for a highly regulated weld area and can weld materials of varying thicknesses.

Metal Forming Fairmont

The use of a mechanical press brake to bend or shape steel is known as metal forming. To create precisely formed components, dies are used to shape the steel.
